About our centre
The Australian Centre for Global Legal Practice and Training (ACGLPT) is an independent, internationally focused institute dedicated to advancing human rights, strengthening access to justice, and fostering equitable institutional practice across Australia and globally.

Our mission and foundation
Established as a purpose-driven institute, ACGLPT bridges the vital gap between academic research, policy reform, and practical implementation. We champion social justice, equality, and inclusion by addressing systemic barriers faced by Indigenous peoples, migrants and refugees, LGBTQIA+ communities, people with disability, and economically disadvantaged groups. Operating from offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Hobart, our multidisciplinary team works collaboratively to turn human rights principles into durable social change.

Four interconnected areas of practice
Our impact is driven by four integrated pillars of work: advocacy, professional training, legal practice, and research. Together, these pillars enable us to empower communities, build professional capacity, and guide legal practitioners and institutions through contemporary and emerging human rights challenges, including digital rights, ethics, and artificial intelligence.

National reach with global perspective
With our presence anchored across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Hobart, ACGLPT connects local community needs with international legal standards. We engage with civil society, government bodies, and international partners to foster ethical governance and responsive legal systems that uphold dignity and fairness for everyone.
"ACGLPT plays an essential role in translating international human rights frameworks into practical, transformative strategies for institutions and grassroots communities alike."
