Research and policy
The Australian Centre for Global Legal Practice and Training conducts independent, evidence-informed research to reform institutions, influence regulatory frameworks, and advance human rights. Operating across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Hobart, we bridge the gap between academic legal enquiry and practical policy development in Australia and internationally.

Law, ethics, and emerging technology
Our policy agenda examines critical challenges at the intersection of jurisprudence, digital rights, and rapid innovation. We investigate the ethical application of artificial intelligence, automated administrative decision-making, and data privacy to ensure technology strengthens, rather than undermines, fundamental human dignity and procedural fairness.

Systemic justice, equality, and inclusion
We generate empirical research addressing institutional barriers faced by First Nations peoples, refugees, migrants, people with disability, LGBTQIA+ communities, and socio-economically disadvantaged individuals. By identifying structural inequities within legal systems, our policy submissions provide evidence-based pathways toward genuine systemic reform.

Institutional integrity and democratic governance
A resilient society depends on accountable institutions and equitable rule of law. ACGLPT works collaboratively with government bodies, civil society, and international partners to evaluate regulatory standards, build legal capacity, and design enduring policy solutions that protect democratic values and expand access to justice globally.
